5 Astounding Dawn Dish Soap Laundry Hacks

Gather all your white clothes, Next, toss them in a bucket, and turn the tap on the warm water. To this add 1/4 cup liquid bleach. Be mindful that the amount is based on the load.  Dawn suds a lot so you don’t need to use a whole lot. Then here comes the miracle worker, Dawn.

Pour 1 tablespoon of Dawn dish soap into the soap dispenser, just a dab will do just fine. Simply place the clothes in the washing machine then turn the washer on for 1 minute to incorporate the soap. Secondly, turn off the washer.  Next, allow the clothes to soak for 10 minutes if using a top loader washer. If not, use a bucket to soak then transfer to the washer. After the 10 minutes is done turn the washer on the white cycle and run till complete. Dry as you normally would.

As mentioned above Dawn dish soap comes in various colors. When washing white either use the Dawn Free and Clear or blue Dawn dish soap. On a personal note, I would not use deeply dyed ones on white clothes as this could leave stains.

Pour Dawn into the bucket, the amount you pour should be based on the pile of laundry you have. Be mindful that the amount is based on the load. Then here comes the miracle worker.

After soaking is complete. Get your hands in and start rubbing the linens together with the palm of your hands. Do this for a few minutes. Your whites should be looking much better by now. At this point, you can toss them in the washer (AFTER SOAKING). I must confess, I love the old vintage way but the washer is just faster. You can also do this process with soiled-colored and white clothes.

To wash colored clothes with Dawn dish soap you won’t need to add any other detergent as this will cause excess sud. Simply toss the clothes in the washer. Do not pour Dawn directly onto the clothes. Use the detergent compartment to add the soap which is 1 tablespoon for large loads. Wash on a regular cycle.  When the wash cycle is complete, place the washed clothes in the dryer.

Drying Tips:

For best results, hang your whites on an outdoor clothesline to dry. Sunlight makes whites stay white longer. Isn’t nature wonderful? Instructions:

First, place the towels into the washer then fill the washer with warm water. Add a few drops of Dawn dish soap and 1/4 cup baking soda to the water. Next, wash as you would normally do.

For extremely moldy towels: Leave them to soak for 1 hour in the washer before washing. Pour 1/4 cup of baking soda and a tablespoon of Dawn dish soap into the liquid dispenser compartment. To achieve the softest towels you’ve ever seen follow the next step. Simply add a 1/4 cup of white distilled vinegar to the wash.
