But if it is stained with food just get a dish and pour 2-3 cups of vinegar, 2 cups of water, and 4 tsp of dish soap, then dip a sponge or cleaning brush into the mixture and use it to clean the stained spot on the carpet. This will definitely get rid of the stain that was on the carpet.
How to clean carpet without a machine?
I just stated one way in which you can clean your carpet without a machine and that is using vinegar and dish soap. But there are many more ways to clean a carpet without using A machine.
One of these ways is to use hydrogen peroxide. To clean your carpet with hydrogen peroxide just sprinkle it on the stained area on the carpet then use a soapy cloth or sponge (use dish soap) to scrub the carpet.

HOW TO CLEAN CARPET WITH BAKING SODA?
To clean your carpet with baking soda all you have to do is get a dish and pour 2 cups of vinegar into it then sprinkle 5 tbsp of baking soda in it as well. Then dip a sponge into the mixture and use it to scrub the stained area of the carpet.
If your entire carpet smells bad just sprinkle baking soda all over the carpet and let it sit there for an hour then use a vacuum to suck up the baking soda. Doing this will make sure that your carpet is cleaned properly.
