How to clean headlights using wd-40, vinegar, toothpaste and baking soda

There are three major steps you need to take when you are going to clean your headlights with wd-40. If you are scared that you might mess something up don’t worry because I will show you how to do so correctly. These are the steps:

Step 1– get a bowl or a small bucket of soap and water. Then use a clean microfiber cloth to wash the headlights. When washing the headlights be sure not to get the water under the headlights and other areas just use it to clean the lense.

Step 2– Now spray the wd-40 onto the headlights (remember not to spray it under the headlights).

Step 3– Then use a clean rag to wipe away the lubricant from the headlights.

How often should you clean headlights with WD-40?

Even though wd-40 can make a good headlight cleaner, I would not recommend that you do this often. Doing this too often will cause the oil to leak into the headlight bulb and this will cause it to burn out.

Final thoughts

So yeah while a can of wd-40 makes a good anti-fog for your car headlights I still don’t recommend it. Now I’m not saying you can’t use it but be extra careful if you are going to and also don’t use it on your headlights too often.

Another thing is that when you clean your car headlights with wd-40 it will only last for a short time. This means that your car headlights will go back foggy a day or two after you have cleaned it with wd-40.

This does not mean that WD-40 isn’t a good product but for cleaning headlights, I would only suggest that you do it one or two times.

If you want to clean your headlights with the right things, it’s best to use a headlight cleaning kit. You can purchase one on amazon.
