How to get red wine out of carpet

It really sucks when you are enjoying yourself by having a drink of wine and suddenly for whatever reason it spills all over your carpet. What makes it worse is that the carpet is very bright colored so the big red wine stain will stick out more than anything else. Cleaning carpets isn’t too hard to do especially when cleaning stains from one. In this post, I will be showing you how to get red wine out of your carpet.

The first thing to do

Whenever there is a spill on the carpet you have to immediately treat it. In this case, since we’re dealing with the red wine we have to get some paper towels and a clean cloth to absorb the wine.  While this may not get rid of the stain it is still really important to do since it makes the cleaning process way easier.

Use Dish soap and hydrogen peroxide

This combination is the best for cleaning alcohol stains out of carpets and since wine has a lot of alcohol in it; this should be really easy. Pour some of the hydrogen peroxide onto the carpet then add a few tablespoons of dish soap onto it as well. Now use a clean cloth and blot the stain out of the carpet. You might have to do this multiple times in order for the red wine stain to disappear. Also if you’re planning to do this multiple times it’s best to use water instead of hydrogen peroxide the second time.
